Consumer Sustainability Products and Services
Sustainability at home -- A regular home can use between $500 and $1000 of extra energy a year and can cause up to 10,000 Kg in greenhouse gases. Our huge selection of energy efficient products and services will show you how to slash your excessive energy bills and put money back into your pocket where it belongs. You work hard for that money and when times get rough, having it available is important. When times are tight, even a $50 difference in the power bill could mean a bright month at your house or disconnection. Don't wait until the last minute to make a difference in your budget.
Using the current technologies available, we can slash your overall budget cost 33% or more this year and you will notice an improvement, not a sacrifice in the quality of your life and living conditions. Compare that 33% return on investment to the current rates at the banks or the stock market. How does it compare to your 401K rate?
I know that sounds fairly fantastic. Here is how it works:
There are three choices that you face.
- Renovate an existing home
- Move to a new home and renovate
- Build an energy efficient home
Sustainability on the move -- America has 30 percent of the world's automobiles that contribute over 50 percent of the world's carbon emissions from transportation. Over 80 percent of the driving is by one or two vehicle occupants. Transportation is one of a family's largest monthly costs. This is not necessary. A small change in thinking can make a huge difference.
The alternatives include 125 mpg or higher fuel efficiencies, and customized style that meets with your
unique personality. These "Low Mass Vehicles" run on multiple fuels (biodiesel, regular diesel, hydrogen and/or plug-in electric)
as specified by you. They get between 125 mpg (biodiesel only) to 300 mpg (hybrid combination) with a very
low carbon footprint.
Can's someone do it for me? Sustainability is more than just solar panels and recycling. While "small category specialists" will tell you that their specialty is the most "important" element, the truth is a bit more serious. You are the key element to obtaining sustainability. As such, you will be needed to participate with whoever helps you develop a sustainability plan. Ultimately, control over the results is yours. Your sustainability consultant will guide you and be there to support you, but it is the you that will find success.
How can I learn to do it myself?DIY (Do It Yourself is a trend that is well underway in America, when it comes to sustainability. The problem is if you just start buying books and tinkering with the elements of sustainability, you can be misled. Sustainability is a wholistic process. Just employing solar solutions, or putting up a wind turbine isn't sustainability. It is a good start, but it is also what has prevented sustainability from catching on over the last four decades that the movement has existed.
It is like a religion that someone makes up. They paste pieces of what exists together and discard important parts because they either do not understand them or just don't like the component. The result is a crippled process that will not deliver salvation. Ok, so we're bad for comparing sustainability with religion, but if you were to go to a "green conference", you'd quickly start to see the parallels.
Having said that, I would encourage everyone to learn the science of sustainability. We offer community training, events, CD/DVD training programs and for those serious about becoming part of the larger movement, we offer training and certification in sustainability and green engineering/sciences. Where am I now?It all starts with a sustainability assessment. This process creates a tailored program that takes you to the place you want to be as quickly as possible. Each sustainability plan is unique to the person/family that it is created for.
